AutoStore Parts Repair

Robot electronics, drive and lift motors, power and charge systems, and port controllers.

  • 7-day standard turnaround
  • 12-month warranty
  • Free UK-wide collection

Faults we see most

  • Robot faulting out mid-task, or repeatedly failing to complete a lift cycle
  • Excessive current draw, stalling or erratic motion on a drive or lift axis
  • Charge faults: contacts not seating, cells not accepting charge, or a pack falling out of balance
  • Wheel or lift motor bearing noise, or loss of positional accuracy

How a repair is proven before it comes back

Nothing is signed off on a power-up. Every unit in this category goes through:

  • Coil resistance and winding health analysis on every motor
  • Live current-draw monitoring under load, to catch a marginal unit before it strands a robot
  • Charge and discharge cycling on battery and contact assemblies
  • Communications and I/O verification against the controller
  • Soak testing before release

Board-level rework is carried out by IPC7711 and IPC7721 certified technicians working to ISO 9001:2015, and the test evidence comes back with the unit.

Manufacturers covered

The equipment seen most often in this category. If yours is not here it is still worth asking — the fault modes rarely change much between brands.

How a repair actually runs

Four stages, one point of contact throughout. You deal with us; we deal with the workshop.

  1. We collect

Tell us what has failed and where it is. Collection is arranged across the UK at no charge, and the unit is booked in against your account with its serial, its symptoms and who reported them.

  2. We diagnose and quote

The unit is bench-tested to confirm the reported fault before anyone opens it, then stripped to component level. You get a fixed quote and an honest verdict — including when replacement is the better buy.

  3. We repair

Board-level rework is carried out by IPC-7711/7721 certified technicians working to ISO 9001. Failed components are replaced with tested equivalents, not bodged around.

  4. We prove it, then return it

Nothing ships on a continuity check. Units are soak tested, load tested and exercised against manufacturer software, and come back with the test evidence and a 12-month warranty.

Common questions

Can AutoStore parts be repaired rather than replaced?

Yes. Most AutoStore failures are electronic or electromechanical, and both repair economically. Our repair partners work at component level on:

  • Robot control and driver PCBs
  • Wheel and lift motor assemblies
  • Battery and charge-contact systems
  • Power supplies
  • Port and grid controllers

Repair typically lands well under the cost of a replacement assembly and avoids the lead time entirely — which, on a live grid, is usually the number that actually hurts.

Which AutoStore components do you handle?

Robot control and motor driver PCBs, wheel and lift motor assemblies, battery packs and charge-contact systems, power supplies, and port and grid controller electronics. If you have something not on that list, send us the part number — the underlying technology is almost always something our partners already repair.

How long does an AutoStore repair take?

Seven days is standard from collection. If a grid is degraded and you are running short of working robots, say so when you enquire and the batch is prioritised on arrival.

Is repaired equipment warranted?

Yes — 12 months on the repair, on the same terms as any other unit our partners return.

Can you handle a batch rather than a single unit?

Batches are the norm, and they are where the economics work hardest. Sites often accumulate a shelf of failed robot boards written off as scrap; recovering that shelf usually costs a fraction of replacing it.

Got a unit that needs looking at?

Send the make, model and what it is doing. You will get a straight answer on whether repair is the right call.

Tell us what has failed. You will get an honest answer on whether it is worth repairing — including when it is not.

What needs repairing

The fault as it presents, and whether the line is down. A sentence or two is plenty.
